On-Campus Employment
F-1 and J-1 students may be employed by Virginia Tech. F-1 and J-1 students are restricted to 20 hrs/week (midnight Friday through midnight Friday) while school is in session and full-time during breaks.
J-1 students must receive a letter of eligibility from their foreign student advisor prior to beginning work.
Illegal work is a serious violation of immigration. Consult your foreign student advisor with any questions.
